From 27 to 29 April 2026, the Hotel & Restaurant Stratmann in Lohne was all about modern sow feeding: at the invitation of JYGA Technologies, Danish Farmers Abroad (DFA) gathered there for an intensive expert meeting. The event was organised, prepared, and hosted by Elmar Moormann (MOORMANN Consulting & Commerce) together with colleagues from JYGA Technologies.

What is Danish Farmers Abroad?

Danish Farmers Abroad (DFA) is an association of Danish investors and farm managers who have purchased, renovated, and modernised agricultural operations across Europe. These farms are run with Danish expertise - and with great success. As a network of shared interests, DFA aims to further its members' education together and exchange new techniques across all areas of agriculture, from crop farming to livestock. Two Days Dedicated to Sow Feeding

The meeting in Lohne, sponsored by JYGA Technologies, focused entirely on one topic this time: how to feed a modern sow today. DFA's management and farm managers from every European country where Danish investors operate sow farms were invited to attend.

Over two days, participants engaged in intensive discussions on current developments and innovations in sow feeding: what updates are available? What has proven successful in practice? And where is the industry heading? The lively exchange between farm managers once again demonstrated how valuable it is to share experience across national borders.

Highlight: Live Link to Aldo Farm in Canada

A particularly special part of the programme was the live connection to Canada: directly from Lohne, participants were connected to JYGA Technologies' Aldo Farm - the family-owned sow operation of JYGA's owners near Québec City, where the manufacturer's feeding systems are used daily and continuously developed. This gave the farm managers a direct insight into practice on the ground - spanning a distance of several thousand kilometres.

Exchange Beyond the Programme

Alongside the professional programme, personal connection wasn't neglected either: the first evening brought everyone together for dinner, while the second evening wound down with a relaxed BBQ.

Two intensive days, plenty of fresh ideas, and a strong network: the DFA meeting in Lohne showed just how much potential lies in international exchange. We thank all participants for attending and JYGA Technologies for their support - and we're already looking forward to the next joint event.
